 Servo Motor Technician


 Job Summary


The position is responsible for the repair of all servo motors done at Perfection Servo Hydraulics.
 

 Responsibilities
 

  • Repair job sheets to determine: job status, work authorization/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability
  • Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (ac or dc)
  • Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
  • Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including, but not limited to: parts washers/steamers, caustic tanks, glass beaders, etc.
  • Measure for or note proper replacement parts. Correctly requisition needed items, as approved by supervisor
  • Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, including, but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.
  • Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operation
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection)
  • Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
  • Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor
  • Repair a servo motor without spec sheet or previous history (level 3)
  • Train other technicians or assist with any questions (level 3)
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

 Required skills

Education or experience:

  • Possession of high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 6 months to 1 year experience in servo motor prep (level 1)
  • 1+ year experience repairing servo motors or completion of manufacturer's certification/ training on motor repair
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to understand, perform and retain various skill-related training and operational safety procedures demonstrated by supervisor
  • Familiarity with encoders, resolvers, tachs, stators and armatures
  • Possesses the ability to be trained to repair standard AC motors and to recognize basic motor parts like bearings, stators and housings (level 1)
  • Possesses  the ability to trouble shoot a servo motor (level 3)
  • Possesses the ability to repair a servo motor without spec sheet or previous history (level 3)
  • Possesses the ability to train other technicians or assist with any questions (level 3)
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Possesses strong organizational skills


Other Information
Special Information (travel required, physical requirements, additional info):

  • Ability to rewind motors is a plus
  • Understanding of electronics is a plus
  • 40-50 hours per week, occasional overtime may be required

 Electronic Technician


 Job Summary


The electronics technician is responsible for trouble shooting, repairing and testing various electronic drives, controllers and pc boards.
 

 Responsibilities

 

  • Repair electronic drives, controllers and pc boards.
  • Troubleshoot and test electronic components to board level, using various methods and testing equipment
  • Follow company procedures for requisitioning parts
  • Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.
  • Verify repairs using start-up testing procedures
  • Operate specialized equipment, including but not limited to: oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, high voltage insulation testers, ac/dc volt-ohm-milliammeters, clamp-on ammeters, various test panels, soldering equipment, infrared scanning equipment, various kinds of hand-held power and non-power tools etc.
  • Document all test procedures and add them to Perfection’s library
  • Complete all paperwork and service reports on repaired job
  • Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

 Required skills

Education or experience:
Associates degree in electronics preferred, but not required

  • Ability to solder/desolder
  • Thorough understanding of electronic circuitry
  • Ability to recognize different electronic components as their functions
  • Familiarity with and ability to utilize different types of test equipment such as function generators, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Possesses strong communication skills


Other Information
Special Information (travel required, physical requirements, additional info):
·        Some traveling may be required for service calls
·        40-50 hours per week, occasional overtime may be required
·        Industrial electronic experience is a plus

 Job Summary



The hydraulic technician is responsible for testing and repairing various hydraulic components.

  • Testing and evaluating incoming hydraulic units
  • Rebuilding hydraulic components
  • Apply mechanical concepts and best practices
  • Troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Train and develop staff (level 3)
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

 Required skills

Education or experience
: Possession of high school diploma or equivalent (GED), possess mechanical ability and has completed some technical training or hands on experience with hydraulics.

  • Ability to set up and test servo valves
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring tool such as micrometers, ID micrometers, calipers, and voltage meters
  • Able to use electrical test equipment
  • Possesses mechanical ability

 Other Information
Special Information (travel required, physical requirements, additional info):

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, bend and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced shop environment
  • Advanced hydraulics coursework is a plus
  • 40-50 hours per week, overtime may be required

  The servo and proportional valve technician is responsible for rebuilding and testing various servo valves and proportional valves.
 

 Responsibilities

  • Testing servo valves to the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s specifications
  • Rebuilding servo valves and proportional valves
  • Running in or evaluating servo valves and proportional valves
  • Making shipping plates
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

 Required skills

Education or experience: Possession of high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Ability to set up and test servo valves
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring tool such as micrometers, ID micrometers, calipers, and voltage meters
  • Able to use electrical test equipment
  • Possesses mechanical ability
